Qatar Airways Award Fee Checker
Check the cash taxes, fees and carrier-imposed charges on a Qatar Airways award flight booked with Avios through Privilege Club. Enter any two airports Qatar flies to, nonstop or connecting in Doha, and see the award fees in economy, business class (including Qsuites) and first class before you book.
- Every figure is an estimate in US dollars for one adult, one way, and can differ from the site by a few dollars.
- Estimates are for travel in 2027. If you're flying in 2026, some taxes may be lower.
- A long layover in Doha (roughly 12 hours or more) adds about US$2.60 in airport charges, which these estimates don't include.
- A mixed-cabin itinerary pays the higher cabin's charge.
- Qatar charges in the currency of the country you fly from. We convert it to US dollars at today's exchange rate, and show the local amount in brackets underneath when we have it.

Qatar Airways Award Taxes and Fees
A Qatar Airways award is never paid in Avios alone: every booking also carries a cash amount. Depending on where you start and which cabin you book, that comes to anything from well under $100 to more than $600 one way.
The checker shows that cash amount before you transfer points or go looking for award space. Enter where you fly from and where you are going, and it lists the nonstop, if Qatar Airways flies one, and the connections through Doha, each with its fee in economy, business and first.
Qatar Airways Award Fees FAQ
How much are the taxes and fees on a Qatar Airways award?
It depends mostly on the country you fly from and the cabin you book. One way, a short economy flight such as Delhi to Doha comes to well under $100, while business class from London to Bangkok through Doha runs to more than $600. Enter your route in the checker above for the figure on your trip.
Why are the taxes on Qatar Airways awards from London so high?
Flights departing the UK pay Air Passenger Duty, one of the highest departure taxes in the world, and its rate for premium economy, business and first is far higher than for economy. A one way award from London to Doha costs roughly three times as much in cash as the same flight from Doha to London. Starting your trip outside the UK avoids it, though other countries charge departure taxes of their own.
Are Qatar Airways award taxes the same in both directions?
No. The cash cost depends on where you start, so the two halves of a round trip are usually different amounts. Check each direction on its own. Qatar Airways charges each one in the currency of its departure country, and the checker shows that amount in brackets where it is known.
Does Qatar Airways add fuel surcharges or a redemption fee to award tickets?
Qatar Airways awards carry a cash amount on top of the Avios, and it is higher in business and first than in economy. Every estimate in the checker is the full cash amount due at booking, redemption fee included.
Are the taxes higher in Qsuites?
Qsuites is Qatar Airways business class, so it is priced as business, which costs more in cash than economy on the same flight.
Can I pay less in cash by booking Qatar Airways flights with other miles?
Often, yes. The same Qatar Airways flight can be booked through partner programs such as British Airways Executive Club, American Airlines AAdvantage and Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards, and the cash due differs from one program to the next. The checker shows Qatar Airways Privilege Club pricing.
Which credit card points transfer to Qatar Airways Avios?
Qatar Airways Privilege Club is a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards, Capital One Miles, Citi ThankYou Points, Marriott Bonvoy at 3:1, Bilt Rewards and Rove Miles. Chase Ultimate Rewards and Wells Fargo Rewards reach it in two steps: transfer to British Airways, Iberia or Aer Lingus, then move the Avios to Qatar Airways one for one.
How accurate are these estimates?
Every figure is an estimate for one adult, one way, in US dollars, and can differ from the amount Qatar Airways shows by a few dollars, mostly from exchange rates where Qatar charges in another currency. Estimates are for travel in 2027. A layover in Doha longer than about twelve hours adds a small airport charge that the estimates leave out.
Why is there no estimate for my route?
Either Qatar Airways does not fly that pair through Doha, or the taxes on it have not been added yet. Every lookup is noted, and the routes people ask about are added first.
